The Crossroads at Wainstalls

Set high on the Pennine moors between Halifax and Hebden Bridge the Cross Roads is an ideal base for exploring the magnificent surrounding countryside. A welcoming log burning fire greets visitors on cold days and this is matched by the warmth of the welcome from Peter and Jayne.The Crossroads Inn has recently been totally refurbished throughout and now offers a comfortable dining environment and relaxed bar area just ten minutes from Halifax town centre. It has what everyone looks for in a good quality establishment and serves good, home cooked food each day as well as a daily specials board where local produce and fresh food is top of their priorities. The Crossroads also has six en suite bed and breakfast rooms with coffee making facilities, flat screen tv's and free wifi and was awarded five stars in the 'Scores on the Doors' hygiene rating.Experienced chef's Peter Conlin and his partner Jayne Barton have taken over running the Timothy Taylor owned Cross Roads Inn. Looking for a fresh challenge the couple have moved North from the New Forest where Peter was Executive Chef for Pebble Hotels and Jayne was the head chef at the Famous Forest Inn, The High Corner.Quality fresh pub food with a twist is their promise as they introduces their own style of cooking and look to build the Cross Roads' reputation as a destination pub for all the family. Peter said "With three children of our own, we are keen to encourage families and with this in mind the emphasis will be very much on value for money food. There is often something on such as pie night, curry night or steak night and there is live music every few weeks.
